Submitted by Nick Berveiler on Fri, 11/10/2006 - 7:30pmI have no idea how much it cost the Chicago Center for Working Studies to put this site together, but it is quite impressive. Check it out at: http://www.labortrail.org
Newscast 1.1 released as open source
Submitted by Nick Berveiler on Mon, 08/29/2005 - 5:30pm2 years worth of website development for labor unions is now available for all. Created from scratch, Newscast is a broad package of commonly used content management features from the development of several labor union websites.
I would not argue that Newscast is the best content management software package available or that this is a "one size fits all" type of program, but for many labor unions who have struggled with maintaining their own website or who are starting up a website for the first time and are looking for a simple solution, Newscast gets the job done.

Submitted by Nick Berveiler on Mon, 07/04/2005 - 6:03amI have some experience working with labor unions as a formerly self employed computer programmer and one of the biggest problems I had to deal with was a lack of respect when trying to find labor organizations to work with.
