Rank-and-file website defends free speech

Can unionists use union acronym in domain names?

This post from the scrappy and articulate Members for Democracy website reports on the outcome of a lawsuit by the UFCW against an independent, rank-and-file website that uses the domain name ufcw.net.

At least in legal terms, MFD is a Canadian website (really its audience and participants are international). So the outcome may not be applicable to US based websites, but the larger battle over internet free speech and union democracy does apply.

MFD is worth looking at also as a good example of how rank-and-file dissident types are using the tools.
