What's the blogospere saying about labor unions?
Back in September, Google launched a new website blogsearch.google.com that allows you to very efficiently search the world's blogs. If you want to find out what folks are saying about unions and workers, this is a great tool.
There's a good write up about its techinical aspects in this article at Search Engine Watch. What I particularly like about it is that you can easily limit the kind of results that you get back in the "Advanced blog search" link. For example, if you want to read all recent blog posts that contain the word "unions," simply enter that word in the "with these words in the post title" text box. The resulting page has an RSS feed that you can subscribe to so you can keep apprised of what the bloggers are saying about labor unions or any other topic for that matter.

advanced blog search is great
Very handy. Thanks for the tip.
Helpful
Took for a test drive and liked it, need to keep on refining it though get a lot of anti-union rants. Thanks.
I noticed yahoo news also
I noticed yahoo news also now has a blog search feature. It is still in beta, but it is good to see the major search engines catching on.
Naa..I don't know. I think it sucks
I don't like it at all. So far it's crap.
I use Technorati.com. I always loved that Joe Trippi guy. A man with right values. Bow for nobody and ain't butt kissing people on Wall Street either. Technorati has always been good when I've needed to find information on blogs.

As y'all know, Blogger and Pyra Labs is owned by Google. And yeah what actually happens is that this "blog search" favors blogs on blogger.com. I got blogs on several blog hosting places and the only hits that shows up are all hosted on Blogger.
Maybe they are going to improve it but for now I just think it's crap and yet another approach for world domination on the information service by Google. Google is walking on very sharp and dangerous edge with a lot of money on one side and a commitment to the first amendment on the other side. How long do you think they will make this balance act? Microsoft recently closed their blog service for people IN China that wrote critical things about THEIR government, so now when Gates bowed to the Chinese government the Chinese government opened up the whole Chinese market for Microsoft. How long to you think it'll take for Google to fall for this same offer? My guess is that it wont take so long. It was a long time ago since Google was a two man company run by ideas from Stanford University. I just disregard that 82% of the employees are Democrats. Google is on the stock market now. Run by wall street.Seeking a monopoly situation to maximize profits. Never forget that.

Like a flash from a clear sky Google sold out to China!
5 days later after I posted my concerns about an eventually google sellout I could hear about THIS in the news and read about it on internet. Google sold out the first amendment. Sooner than I could ever imagine.

SHAME SHAME SHAME
So now what? Will Wall Street push Google to block everything that got to do with Unions and strike blogs in America and all over the world?
Wake up Senators. Wake up Kerry, Wake Up Dean, Wake up Ron Paul, Wake up true defenders of the First Amendment!
