Communicate or Die newsletter

OK, this quiet litte corner of the Internet has been plugging along for about 9 months now. It's got a few loyal posters and there's generally some pretty interesting and controversial stuff up here. We've built up a membership of 120 names. I don't think that's too bad for a web site about a fairly obscure topic and the relatively meager brain energy I've devoted to the site.

However, I think many people see the site and find it interesting but then forget about CoD and don't come back. So within a week, I'm going to start sending out a weekly newsletter to all our members that simply recaps what was published on the site. To respect those who don't wish to receive the newsletter via email, users will be able to unsubscribe.

Please let me know what you think of this idea, good or bad, and any suggestions for what should go into the newsletter.

What about making it a weekly post?

That way, it is about a paragraph long. People who are reading via RSS can find it useful as well, say they skim the topics weekly, but really dig into the "newsletter." And people who are subscribing via email may be more apt to read a paragraph... Also, what about the idea of doing it in public, maybe collaboratively? Best, Mark (or instead of weekly, how about every 10 days, something different...)

Here's what I was thinking

A list of headlines from the prior week and a link back to each individual post and maybe a short blurb. There wouldn't be more than 5 a week. There wouldn't really be a need to do that collaboratively. In fact, it would be totally automated.

Every ten days? I like being different and all but I don't see what advantages doing that would have.
