Getting bloggers to blog

Teamsters's picture

As many people here probably already know, the Teamsters along with a number of other organizations, are furious over the recent decision by the Department of Transportation to blatantly break the law around the Mexican Trucking Pilot Program.

In a nutshell, this is the issue at hand:

* Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND) authored a provision to the law scrapping the pilot program allowing long-haul Mexican trucks into the United States.

* The President signed the legislation as part of an Omnibus Budget Bill - A Transportation Appropriations Bill.

* The Department of Transportation, shortly after Senator Dorgan's provision became law, announced that it will continue with the pilot program ... anyway.

* Senator Dorgan, as you can imagine, is fuming ... so are the Teamsters.

Our basic stance here is the Department of Transportation should be enforcing the law, not breaking it.

I am posting this here because I want to get bloggers interested in this issue where they can begin following this dispute, reporting on it ... and getting people motivated to take action when it is time to do so.

If any bloggers want to pick this story up, please feel free to contact me to get as much background information as you'd want, as well as set up interviews with the Teamster Communications Department.

Thank you.

Just post links, while I'm

Just post links, while I'm currently emblazoned at the atrocities of Big Media's recent censorship of Kucinich and Paul, this could very well be a mad as hell #4
